Tuolumne County stretches from gently rolling foothills to spectacular mountain peaks with boundaries which include more than 1,400,000 acres.

• Nearly 76% of the County is owned by the federal government.

• Only 5% of Tuolumne County's land that is not federally owned, in timber preserve, or in the Williamson Act is available for development (includes all existing development).

• In our current proposed plan, the Mountain Springs Community will provide approximately 6% of the County's housing needs over the next 20 years.

Mountain Springs wants to effectively and efficiently utilize the land, maintain the cultural and sensitive environmental areas within open space, address the adjacent land owner issues, provide adequate infrastructure, and create a sense of community.
