3.1.1 Standard Minor Collector
This street section, as illustrated in Figure 3-2, will include two 12-foot travel lanes, one in each direction, and a 6-foot shoulder on each side. Four (4) feet of the shoulder will be paved and designated as a Class II bike lane. The setback corridor paralleling the street right-of-way is 14 feet. A four-foot roadside walkway will be provided on one side of the roadway. The roadside walkway may be separated from the street by up to 10 feet of open space that may incorporate natural vegetation or be landscaped. Depending on topography and site features the sidewalk may be further than 10 feet from the street. Total street section width is 64 feet. While this street section will permit driveway access to individual lots, on-street parking will be prohibited unless in pull-outs spaces designated for such use. Standard minor collector streets provide access from local residential streets and interior Community Plan uses. This street section is intended to carry moderate traffic volumes.
3.2 Local Roads

3.2.1 Local Road (Non-Hillside)
Non-hillside local roads are those located in portions of the Community Plan where the slope is less than 20 percent. These roads shall be located to provide adequate circulation access to most residential and mixed use areas as they are developed. Local road sections will vary depending on the product type served and the topography of the area. All local road sections may be used informally for bicycle travel. As illustrated in Figure 3-3, local road standards include two 10-foot travel lanes, one in each direction, and the capacity for on-street parking on one side of the street. On one side a four-foot sidewalk will also be provided. The sidewalk may be separated from the street by 8 or more feet of open space that may incorporate natural vegetation or be landscaped. Depending on topography and site features the sidewalk may be further than 8 feet from the street. This street section is typically found within areas designated either Low or Medium Density Residential with slope gradients of less than 20 percent.
3.2.2 Hillside Local Road
Hillside local roads are located to service residential areas where the slope is 20 percent or more. In accordance with the Tuolumne County Hillside and Hilltop Development Guidelines, street widths are minimized in these areas of greater slopes in order to reduce hillside impacts. As illustrated in Figure 3-4, hillside local road standards include two 12-foot travel lanes, one in each direction, with a 2-foot non-paved shoulder. If the street section is constructed adjacent to the top of cut and/or toe of fill, the unpaved shoulder will be increased by an additional 3 feet to provide a total of 5 feet of unpaved shoulder. In areas designated for Estate Residential, Low Density Residential, or Medium Density Residential, on-street parking may be provided in the form of multiple-vehicle parking pull-outs located along street segments or within landscaped medians at the end of cul-de-sacs. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be routed to trails located within adjacent open space corridors. The section of the Community loop road designated as a hillside local road will have a 4 foot sidewalk or community trail located on one side. The exact location of the sidewalk will be determined based on actual site conditions.
